I sure echo that Werner. Again, there are ways to make an asymetrical construction work. The biggest problem I'm finding, over especially the last year, is the Asian approach to MLB's. Mostly, it is to cut costs. Sounds familiar, eh? It's almost like a time warp. I'm seeing the same cost cutting measures applied by folks in Thaihland, China, and India we here in the USA got over long ago. I'm seeing x-sections that won't even suport a "normal" PCB let alone one fairly complex. The Japanese also have, for many years, gotten over "CHEAP" and they make some of the world's best products. Hell, they make most of the world's products. I see so many of my DFM/CE designs working well in this country but, when introduced to Asian customers, all they want to do is cut costs by minimizing certain proven design for manufacturability rules. How many times must we repeat this silly ass cycle? The answers are all there so use them. Why go through all this again? Cheap didn't work then. It does not work now, but DFM/CE works. Let's get to it folks as this is PCB 101 stuff.
