Dave, We use a system from Derby Associates (http://www.derby.com). Derby is a spin-off from HP (now Agilent) so the system integrates nicely with Agilent testers, but it will work with any vendors test equipment. The nice feature of this system is that you import your CAD files and when there is a failure at test the repair operator sees a picture of the board on their computer screen with the failure highlighted in Red. They touch the component (if you are using a touch screen) and then can highlight the repair code. This system works nicely because not all boards have reference designators in the silk screen. Touch-up operators also use the system, in this case they act like testers (highlight bad joint) and a repair operator. The system keeps track of the test data, repair data and makes sure if the board has been repaired that it actually passes test after being repaired before going onto the next process step. We have written our own manual data collection application, using touch screens, that pushes data in the same data collection format and we have our functional testers, (even acoustic testers) pushing data in the same format. The system runs on Unix boxes in our facility but they do have some customers using NT. If you need any more information, you can contact me off-line. At this time, I'm not interested in SPC data as much as getting simple pareto charts showing some trending over many individual work orders. It would be nice to be able to use the same software to track yield data from the test technicians also. I should explain that we have an Access database a summer intern wrote for us that collects the data but can't trend it for us. It is written in fairly complex code that is difficult to modify without spending lots of time working at it. We're thinking we'd be better off to stick with a canned program that we can customize to out needs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8e To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt or (re-start) delivery of Technet send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet NOMAIL or (MAIL) To receive ONE mailing per day of all the posts: send e-mail to [log in to unmask]: SET Technet Digest Search the archives of previous posts at: http://listserv.ipc.org/archives Please visit IPC web site http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
