Generally speaking polystyrene materials tend to be brittle and might have to be handled with TLC when drilling or routing. Adhesion of soldermask should not be a problem. In case you do have a wetting prob;em, add a small amount of a ketone, e.g. acetone to help bite into the surface.  For safety reasons a higher boiling ketone should be used.

Subject: [TN] Rexolite

We have been asked to make a circuit for a customer using “rexolite” ( MADE BY C-LIC PLASTICS – a polystyrene base material) -. Should I have any concerns about drilling this material, routing it , soldermask adhesion. Any pointers would be appreciated. Regards Steve Kelly
