Bob,

I would have to echo Brian's comments... I did some SIR testing on a slightly out of control spray fluxing process, in which I was investigating the effect of overspray and capillary action.... The results on the SMT side were truly frightening.  I wouldn't recommend applying no-clean flux to the component side - maybe just find a slightly more active no-clean flux that gives the wetting you desire, or go back to cleaning of a more active flux full-stop, would be my advice if you need any kind of reliability on this assembly.

Subject: [TN] fluxing the top side of printed circuit board

Is it okay to either spray or apply flux to the component side of the printed circuit board. We are using Kester 951 no clean flux.

Thanking you,

Bob Arciolla
