Topic: Introduction to HDI
Duration: 4 hours
Abstract: This workshop is designed to provide engineers, designers and their managers with an understanding of High Density Interconnect (HDI). Given the increase in design complexity and the rise of fine-pitch, high pin-count BGAs, companies are struggling with how to design an HDI substrate that meets all of their companies needs. This course will provide information on HDI including:
 What is HDI?
 Microvias
 HDI Advantages/Issues
 Toolsets for HDI Design
 How to Get Started
Prerequisite: A basic knowledge of PCB design

Speaker: Michael Fitts has been involved in the design of HDI substrates since 1992. Since 1995, he has been lecturing to and consulting with OEMs, users groups and CAD companies on HDI technology and design. He is a regular speaker on HDI at numerous conferences worldwide and has written technical articles for various publications on this technology. Mike is a past member of the IPC subcommittee on HDI Design responsible for IPC-2315 Design Guide for HDI and Microvias and IPC-2226 Design Standard for HDI and Microvias. He is a member (emeritus) of PCD Magazine's editorial review board and conference advisory board and is one of the "original PorchDawgs". Michael was formerly president of The Solution Fitts, Inc., an electronic engineering consulting firm located outside of Boulder, Colorado.

Directions: Directions to Aircraft Braking Systems are as follows. From I-77 in Akron take the Route 224 east exit. From 224 exit at "Airdock Access Road" and then turn right.
