Yes, it is a large mass and from what I have just learned, the design of the PCB is in the process of being changed because of the issue of some solder joints not fitting the criteria of IPC-A-610.

Hey, thanks for the complement, (I am taking your remark of "spring air" as a complement). It could also mean a "little green behind the ears" for some of the questions I ask.

Mary Jane, the solder joint looks perfect but what a large physical mass. As
I recal piezo stuff is mostly ceramic so the thermal mismatch may be too
much as well. It's just too much mass and CTE mismatch for those little
solder joints, don't you think? Underfill or what?
