In one case, my vendor who is using Indium92J claims refrigeration is not required. What's indium position on refrigeration free solder paste. How long will it last under normal room temperature (73F)? Regards, M. A good rule of thumb is to remove the paste from refrigeration the night (or day) before you plan to use it. In other words, 8-12 hr. will insure it has reached room temp. TechNetters, I'm wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the amount of time needed for a jar of solder paste to reach ambient temperature once it is removed from refrigerated storage. The container is 90 mm tall and 80 mm in circumference. The net weight is 1 kilogram, and the product is stored in a 40 degree F environment. Our facility consistently ranges from 70 to 72 degrees. I understand condensation will form if opened prior to reaching room temp. I had planned to insert a thermometer into the middle of the jar to get an actual reading, but I also really hate to waste an expensive jar of paste to perform such a simple experiment.
