For Dave, I think ISO 9000's requirement 7.3 provides OPPORTUNITY for this assurance from a design standpoint. The rest of ISO both demands and supports this be done. For Ed, I repeat the same as above. Also, my experience being a manager and not, is that management expects fast results based on assignments but instead of hurrying to report THEM, it much prefers announcing a good bottom line based upon and reflecting THEM. Again, anything can be taken to extremes and, again, not defending ISO 9000 but for the possibilities it offers - it provides the OPPORTUNITY for improvement. Management, if wise enough, can turn the opportunity into reality with both good employee/team and bottom line results.
