Our design department is switching to pin type LCD from elastomer based LCDs to get rid of mis-alignment faults due to tolerances of bezzle & LCD fitment. This pin type LCD has 36 pins in dual rows (18 in each row) with a pitch of ~2 mm. The assembly is such that we can not solder it through wave soldering ( type AB assembly) and we do not want to incur heavy cost in selective soldering machines. We would like to go for hand soldering option but in a faster way. Can someone advise which type of tip and which product is best suitable for this application? Will this method work reliably & successfully in long run? Awaiting a solution for the-net team.
