Craig VP reflow has a severe disadvantage: the Fluorinert or Galden or whatever, are amongst the world's worst global warmers, with a GWP of about 10,000 and an atmospheric residence time of about 10,000 years. This means that they leave a terrible legacy for the next 25 generations or so. They are also targeted in the Kyoto Protocol for the same reason. This means in rough figures that 2 kg of the stuff is equivalent to all the CO2 a medium sized car (~2.5 litre engine) will produce during its whole lifetime. The process is still used a large extent in Europe. Perfluorocarbons should be used ONLY where there is absolutely no other choice and under the maximum non-emissivity, in my opinion.
