Hi Lou, Unfortunately, calibration of equipment by the manufacturer seems to always be costly. I also have specific equipment that must be calibrated by the manufacturer. Short of replacing the equipment with a more generic unit that can be calibrated by just about anyone, the only thing left to consider is the frequency of the calibrations. For example, If your records show you have an item that is calibrated annually and this unit has been found to be in calibration for the last 5 years, then you might consider changing the frequency to perhaps once every two years to amortize the cost a bit. Bottom line is that some calibration costs are extremely expensive and unless you have alternate viable calibration source, your pretty much stuck with what they want to charge.
