Kevin, I would like to add one caveat about using 610 for acceptability. According to paragraph 1.2 of IPC-A-610C, to apply and use the content of 610, the assembly/product should comply with other existing IPC requirements such as IPC-SM-782, IPC-2221, IPC-6011 and IPC-A-600 (or equivalent requirements). If not, then the acceptance criteria needs to be defined between the customer and supplier. I am not familiar with polyimide boards, but wonder if these would be covered.
