Hi, Phil, The question is "is the no-clean flux used in the solder wick water soluble?" I don't recall seeing any that is, although I haven't been looking for quite a while. We use a "no-flux" solder wick for our OA fluxing processes without problems. The operators dab a little of the liquid OA flux on the wick before using it. It seems to work OK here. Along with the conversion we switched from a solvent board wash to an aqueous board wash using closed loop DI water only. Now I have people complaining that the solder wick (un fluxed) I switched to doesn't work well at all. I have suggested that they need to use some of the liquid OA flux that they have been supplied, but still people are unhappy. A few assemblers had used a no-clean flux solder wick with a previous employer, which seemed to work well. My question is are there wash/compatibility problems with this no-clean flux wick, my DI water wash system and residue left on the boards after wash?
