Would you like to give your suppliers 57% more tolerance without negatively affecting the form and fit of your PCB? You could, by applying GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to your PCB fabrication drawings. This session will present the basics of GD&T, as well as some specifics as they apply to PCBs, along with some recommendations of appropriate values. Geometric tolerancing is based on ASME Y14.5M-1994. Application of this standard is becoming the preferred method of dimensioning. This also will introduce you to IPC 2615, Printed Board Dimensions and Tolerances. After this session, you should be able to dimension and tolerance a basic PCB, without incurring unnecessarily tight tolerances or additional costs. Target Audience: Anyone who creates or reads PCB Drawings. Guest speaker: John A. Sabo About the Speaker; John A. Sabo is a Sr. Technical Analyst, PCB Design with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley.
