Hey Scott... We here actually weight the amount of flux deposited. We had a glass window made to fit our optimizer board. We weight this window before and after it has gone through the fluxer. Naturally we take the window and optimizer window out before it reaches the reflow ovens, we also try and do this collection before the ovens have heated up first thing at the beginning of a shift. The flux will evaporate quite rapidly and therefore the weighing of the window must be done as soon as possible after is has exited from the fluxer. We used a window because we were also looking at flux distribution on the boards. Hope this helps... Samuel Ares Process Engineering Leitch Technology Int.
