Oh,is Polly gone, bad, bad Interesting to see the CAD riders in conversation, they are the key persons but seldom roar...here I try to involve them more in material and process discussions, were too much apart in old days. Talking this, anyone who has simulated heat transportation in conductors under BGAs? Many of the various cad, cam, and plotting systems write/ read the polygons in slightly different ways (I think it's often a problem of varying tolerances). To complicate matters, many systems don't "red flag" polygon read errors well. We used to have similar problems with arc commands in 274d format. The surest solution is to fax/ send artwork prints (or e-mail PDF "go-by's" with your next order). We've seen plane layers written out in many ways: Negative Etch; Merge; Copper Pour; Polygon Fill. The use of polygon fill is increasing rapidly. The following was the explanation i received. JUST WANT TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. thank you in advance for your time leo j. flick [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt delivery of Technet send the following message: SET Technet NOMAIL Search previous postings at: www.ipc.org > On-Line Resources & Databases > E-mail Archives Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt delivery of Technet send the following message: SET Technet NOMAIL Search previous postings at: www.ipc.org > On-Line Resources & Databases > E-mail Archives Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
