I'm passing on a question from a graduate student who is trying to model a solder joint that is solder mask defined. He is having difficulty finding the geometry of solder masks commonly used in production. For example, the diameter/angle of the opening, the thickness of the mask, the situation where soldermask defined pads are used, etc. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Brian -----Original Message----- From: Sent: Tuesday, March 06, 2001 4:06 PM To: Hunter, Brian Cc: Subject: Questions Hello Brian, How are you? Hope everything is well with you. This is Tony. I need your help. Currently I am working on a project where I need to define the shape of solder joint (has to be solder mask defined). However, it is very difficult to find the geometry of solder masks commonly used in production. (For example, the diameter/angle of the opening, the thickness of the mask, the situation where mask is necessary). If you think you can help me out on this. Can you please let me know a time that I can call you? Very much appreciated!
