Don, VDO is using a Smart Sonic Ultrasonic Stencil Cleaner and 440-R SMT Detergent for cleaning stencils. This same system may be used for cleaning misprinted PWBs. There is an article on the Smart Sonic Web Site by Richard Clouthier of the Rochester Institute of Technology regarding this subject. Go to (www.smartsonic.com) and click on "Recommended Reading." As for the ionic spec., this is a function of the rinse water quality used. You will need to use a high quality DI water rinse. If the PWB has vias, or if cleaning populated PCBs, the board should be rinsed in a DI water ultrasonic bath.
