How about, if you use the wrong flux you dye (die)? Ron Dieselberg Trainer/Auditor BAE SYSTEMS Cincinnati Electronics Corp. [log in to unmask] -----Original Message----- From: Stephen R. No-clean (for hand soldering items that can't be cleaned...unsealed switches, etc.) RMA (because some of our customers require it), and OA (for everything else...). We seem to occasionally have a problem with our operators picking up the wrong bottle of flux thinking it is no-clean, but it is OA...and yes, the bottles are labeled, but it still happens... Is there some sort of dye that could be put into the flux that wouldn't hurt the chemistry of the flux, would wash off completely, and not turn other things colored? I'm thinking that if there's a really different color to OA flux, it would lessen the chance picking-up the wrong bottle, and you can easily tell when OA's haven't been cleaned from the board. Just trying to make things "monkey-proof" if ya' know what I mean...hehehe. -Steve Gregory- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt delivery of Technet send the following message: SET Technet NOMAIL Search previous postings at: www.ipc.org > On-Line Resources & Databases > E-mail Archives Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF Technet To temporarily halt delivery of Technet send the following message: SET Technet NOMAIL Search previous postings at: www.ipc.org > On-Line Resources & Databases > E-mail Archives Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
