I forgot to add what spec we ended up using. We could not find a spec for transformers on a PWB, so we took a unit that had passed our ALT and the transportaion standard for vibration and acceleration, measure what it took to pull the wires on that assembly, and then specified that it had to be at or above that level. -----Original Message----- From: TechNet [mailto:[log in to unmask]]On Behalf Of Phil Nutting Sent: Tuesday, February 27, 2001 10:25 AM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [TN] Wire crimp pull tests To my esteemed colleagues, We had a customer visit today and the topic of "pull testing of crimped wire terminals" came up. We haven't been testing these formally. Do any of you get into crimping of discrete wires and then performing a pull test? What equipment is required to accomplish this task. And the all important one, to what standard should we work? Phil Nutting Manufacturing Engineer Kaiser Systems, Inc.
