I would agree with Mr. Moffitts comments. I would add one note of caution regarding the flux pens. Sometimes, the fibrous material that holds the flux is cotton, which may be bleached to be white. Bleach is chloride and can contaminate the flux as it flows out of the container. Something to consider if you are trying to figure out where the halide is coming from in a halide-free flux. I know that Kester is aware of this. Can't say if the other vendors are.
