I am interested in the optimum temperature for the soldering iron used in
rework operations.
At this moment we use 750F (Aprox. 400C) in the soldering irons for the
touch up operation (Rework operation in line for wave soldering).
Is it correct this temperature or do we use a lower temperature?

*One consideration is the kind of flux you are using. If you are used to
dealing with the old RMAs and their associated temperatures, then you are
too hot for the low solids fluxes. I suggest that you contact Dave
Robertson at Hexacon Electric. They did an extensive study a few years
back on the effects of tip temperature with respect to various flux types.
