Pink poly, to my knowledge is a topically treated material. This treatment can be transmitted to the board inside and could cause soldering issues. My recommendation, if static is a concern is to use a shielding bag, with the foil layer inside. This will not only provide you with ESD protection (which the pink poly does NOT) but it eliminates contamination concerns.
