Hi Ken, It's been a while since I quoted layout, but here are some basic considerations I recall: 1. # parts 2. # pins 3. Board square inches (for figuring density) 4. # nets 5. design considerations such as placement, high speed, daisy chain, matched pairs, controlled impedance, etc. (there are others) 6. format of engineers' inputs (compatible net list, schematic and parts list files) or Ugh- hard copy. 7. component data sheets provided? 8. delivery time Regards, Mark Hargreaves -----Original Message----- From: Ken Patel [SMTP:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Monday, October 16, 2000 12:02 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: [TN] PCB Layout quotation I should have asked the question other way. How the design folks are making their quotation, is it based on number of nets, ... What are the factors being considered to prepare a layout quotation of fab? re, ken patel --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d To unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the BODY (NOT the subject field): SIGNOFF TECHNET Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information, or contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or 847-509-9700 ext.5315 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
