Ken, This shouldn't be a problem if the board has a solder mask. Having said that there are probably 5 or 6 good reasons why you shouldn't allow it. A lot depends on the final application. Guys, Do you see any problem in having axial PTH capacitor's leads lying on the board surface? I have a board with cut out in it and has two holes across the cut out. Bec' of the height restriction on the board, we want this axial cap's leads rest on the board leaving body hanging in the air across the thickness. I hope you are getting the picture here. Please let me know if you see any problem or I should be aware off. re, ken patel ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8d ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
