I would like to add that it is a good practice to identify and report the minimum SIR readings when taking continuous or near continuous readings. It is not a good idea to let computer software just printout an average SIR without some further evaluation and thought. The minimum should also be reported and the data around the minimum should be reviewed either graphically or on a spreadsheet to insure its validity. We have seen brief but real SIR failures in some of our studies that have corresponded to product lots with field problems. -- John Moylan Delsen Testing Laboratories, Inc. 1024 Grand Central Ave. Glendale CA 91201 Phone: 818 247 4106 FAX: 818 247 4537 Kiiski Jarmo wrote: > To estimate the average of SIR-test results should arithmetic or geometric > mean used and how standard deviation should calculated? > > B.R. > Jarmo Kiiski > > ############################################################## > TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c > ############################################################## > To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in > the body: > To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> > To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET > ############################################################## > Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional > information. > If you need assistance - contact Keach Sasamori at [log in to unmask] or > 847-509-9700 ext.5315 > ############################################################## ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
