Eric, 
Daan is right, and I wouldn't bother with anything more than the visual
inspection on the visible side of the joints.
Once we found opens between the pins and the component on the component
after wave soldering. If your concern is because of an electrical
failure,you have to make a more thorough investigation. Just a thought.
