Mary, Thanks for the clarification, we were led to believe that we would have to take a minimal (~20 hour) recert to be able to train to -610 Rev C. So I guess I just need to buy the new training materials? I understand that Rev C instructor materials will be on CD, will there be a way to upgrade my existing Rev B slide set to either add/remove the appropriate slides or some trade-in on the CD? Any ideas? Therefore, your certification is good until it's expiration (18 months) whether Rev. C training is out or not. However, those who were certified on IPC-A-610 Revision B will receive certification for two years beginning at the point that they re-certify to Revision C. Certification will also be two years for new Class A Instructor candidates trained on the Revision C of the IPC-A-610. Current expiration dates are still in effect, except for those granted an extension by IPC. In other words, the two-year certification period is not retroactive. This period applies to both the Worker Proficiency and Class A Instructor training. Training materials for Revision C will be available for any certified Class A instructor by June so you don't need to take another course to "recertify to revision C".
