Ken, If we get this type of order, we typically ask for a contact at the assembly house. We try to palletize/panelize based on the info that the assembler provides (max. pallet size, rails for clamping etc.). We then output the solder pastes (if asked) in the same pallet form for the customer to take to the stencil maker. A lot of times, when the board comes back in for another order or a rev spin, we will get a mechanical drawing that matches the initial pallet. For some less experienced designers, it is easier to get the spacing and lay-up from the fab house.
