Hello all, I would appreciate it if somebody could give me the benefit of their experience on network / floating licensing of PADS. I have in the past used a floating license of PADS in a design office environment where the workstations were connected by an Windows NT network. My question is has anyone used a floating license in a multi-location network and if so what problems have you encountered ?. Our requirement for Pads at our various design site varies between 10%-30% utilisation, so management are loathe to spend money on node-locked copies for each of these locations. I want to replace our current licenses with floating licenses so that we can make best use of PAD'S without paying for more copies of the software that would sit on shelf 90% of the time. Also with the 8 hour time difference there would be little or no contention for 'grabbing' the license. Each of these locations are connected by an NT network that is pretty standard. Is there any way of sharing the licence's across the Atlantic ? Is it as simple as obtaining Floating licenses, is there a more complex solution or is it impractical/ impossible to make the most of our resources like this.
