Hi all, This issue has sure gotten some response, but I will caution those not well adapt at OSs not to mess with the registry. There is an easier way. On Win95/98 or NT go to Start/Run and type in winfile . This will bring up what looks like Windoze Explorer, but it's more functional. Under File you'll find associate , which you can associate and disassociate filename extensions. This is way easier than messing with something Bill Gates DON'T even mess with. Luck to all :) Mitch ---------Included Message---------- > Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2000 11:48:29 -0800 > From: "Olson, Jack" <[log in to unmask]> > Reply-To: "DesignerCouncil E-Mail Forum." <[log in to unmask]>, "Olson, Jack" <[log in to unmask]> > To: <[log in to unmask]> > Subject: Re: [DC] Change Associated Files in NT4 SP6a > > I had to do the exact same thing once, you need to edit the registry. > Someone showed me how but now I can't remember. > > If you need a utility to do it, > > Go here > http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/search.html > <http://hotfiles.zdnet.com/cgi-bin/texis/swlib/hotfiles/search.html> > > and search for "registry" > > good luck, > Jack > > -----Original Message----- > From: Wolfe, Robert [mailto:[log in to unmask]] > Sent: Wednesday, March 29, 2000 8:43 AM > Subject: Change Associated Files in NT4 SP6a > > Need a little help. > I have accidently set up an association for files with the > .hgl extension > for a program AutoView. > If I go to My Computer/View/Options/File Types you can > supposedly change > this.
