Ann, Why do you believe it's a typo? 6-12 microns of Ni is a lot (more than needed), but certainly possible. And so is 2-4 microns of Au. You may be thinking they want 6-12 and 2-4 microinches. That would be immersion gold range. Nobody can put on 2-4 microns of gold by immersion process. Further, I don't think there are immersion hard gold baths. So it's got to be electrolytic. If it is a touch pad, thick hard gold makes sense. I can give a few supplier names off the Technet if you like.
