Firstly apologies for cross posting this mail to numerous lists. Question: I have a design that potentially requires the use of chip on board techniques due to size and weight constraints. The problem is that because the design is to be low volume i.e. 100 - 200 units in total would it be practical to use COB techniques ? are there any large tooling costs involved ? Also I am likely to require fairly fast prototype assembly of this design but I don't know of any fast-turnaround assembly houses offering wire bonding services. Can anyone put me in touch with a suitable assembler, preferably in the UK ?
