Steve, You must believe in the tooth fairy too! <g> Seriously, I think where 0,0 is from an assembly standpoint depends alot on your processing software and the equipment your using. We generally set it at one of our fiducials. Probably depends on the software, but ours allows moving it easily. I'd like to echo Ahne's guidelines too...from an assemblers perspective. Sometimes, if we ask real nice, we'll get a file of the X/Y centroids for the SMT components in with the Gerbers, and it makes things real easy to generate the pick and place program if zero-zero is at either the lower left or lower right of the board. If we get real lucky, all the theta rotations in the X/Y file for the parts will match our machines too...and if we get REALLY lucky, each X/Y will have the part number, reference designator, and package type too! But I know sometimes that's asking a lot...hehehe. -Steve Gregory- ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
