Hi Ya'll! Our autoinsertion equipment operators really need some training. They're more or less what I call "button pushers"...they know what buttons to push, but don't really know what the machine does or what is actually happening when they push the buttons. When something goes wrong, even something simple, it stops production... sometimes for hours. It's not their fault, they've never had any training...and I'm not much help because I really don't know the machines either...my focus is on SMT. I was asked if I knew where or who we could get to train our people. I said I'd look into it. We've got some shall I say; "Vintage" machines, the VCD is a single head Universal 6285 (I think the models are up in the 66XX range now) probably 8-10 years old, and our DIP inserter is a NETCO machine. To illustrate how old that is; it uses 8" floppy disks to store programs on... So what I'm asking, is there anyone that ya'll know of (that is still alive...hehehe) that might be willing to train our people? Management now realizes the importance of training them (albeit a little late), so they're willing to pay a fair price. Trouble is finding someone that knows this equipment that's willing to do it. Any help that you can give me in finding someone would be most appreciated... -Steve Gregory- ############################################################## TechNet Mail List provided as a free service by IPC using LISTSERV 1.8c ############################################################## To subscribe/unsubscribe, send a message to [log in to unmask] with following text in the body: To subscribe: SUBSCRIBE TECHNET <your full name> To unsubscribe: SIGNOFF TECHNET ############################################################## Please visit IPC web site (http://www.ipc.org/html/forum.htm) for additional information.
