We build telecommunications boards which have RF/EMI shielding requirements
between the various "rooms" on the board and our designers use shields to
achieve this.

Typically during the prototype phases of a design we use the two piece
shields, the first is a frame which is soldered to the board and the second
is just a cover that snaps onto the first, but at some point it in time,
like when our test yields finally are high enough, the designs usually
convert over to one piece shields.

During the two piece phase, our lines bog down due to the manual attachment
method of as many as 20 shields per assembly.  It seems like the perfect
application for a simple robotic placement system, but I don't know if
there is such an animal out there yet.
