Resistance?

Yes. A rather ostentatious address, but I like it. It was actually given to
me by Tim Crawford, formerly of EMPF, on the day I was considering what my
address should be. He called to discuss some SIR data he had generated and
wanted to talk to "the SIR Guru" (his assessment, not mine) about it. I
figured, what the heck, and used SIRGuru as my address. Tim was immersed in
the repeatability and reproducibility experiments on ionic cleanliness
testers at the time and so became the Ion God.

May the good Lord grant that I never become so full of myself that I consider
myself either a deity in the industry, or even the head priest.

But I do retain a sympathetic ear for the plight of the military and the
working stiffs. The DoD has effectively shackled their hands and feet
(cancelled specs without replacement and directed silence on soldering
issues), bound them with a great weight (FARS and DFARS), and cast them
adrift (no support), then told them to produce state of the art equipment
that lasts for 25 years and never fails. Here, go swim with the sharks.
Class 2 manufacturers have it WAY easier.
