Alain,
the "AD" does not stand for after death. My wife had that misconception
also, and she's quite interested in the life of Christ. Rather, AD stands
for Anno Domini, which means "Year of our Lord" in Latin. Now it turns out
that by our present calendar that Christ was born in 3 or 4 BC, but that's
another story.
