Once you have verified profiler calibration use the profiler to verify oven
calibration. Attach thermocouples to a board or something so that the thermocouples are
in the open air (tape them so the stick up off the board) and run through oven. As it
passes through each zone it will tell you that zones temperature, compare that to the
actual zone temperature as reported by the systems software. The frequency at which you
check your oven conveyor speed calibration and zone temperature accuracy depends on how
much you use it but I would verify at least every couple of months (or when you suspect
a change in your process). Check individual processes more frequently using your test
profiling board (which is an accurate representation of the product you are building).
I would test my profile recipes every couple of weeks at least.
