Ron,
The two documents that seem to be most used today are ANSI/EIA-625 and the
new ANSI/ESD 20.20. 625 still references MIL-STD-1686 but 20.20 does not
mention it.
IPC-A-610 has apretty good little section on ESD. 610 also points to
ANSI/J-STD-001 which points you to EIA 625.
Lets hear it for specmanship :-)
