ECR is microwave plasma deposition (remote plasma) can be used for deposite
protective coating for many substrates... for Silicon dioxide, it is used as
protective hard coating...It is used many places for coating kapton
substrates, solar cells and others...price? Pual, I would not want to have
one on site...I would rather ask someone to provide "service" (don't know
how much cost...in early 90, everybody were use "home made"...you can use
ECR deposite other hard coating like nitride, diamond, but it is not
easy...) you may have to go back to early 90s to get the reference for ECR
deposition of SiO2...the "latest and greatest" are all concerntrate on
diamond or some nitride now...Can't even pull a nice decent paper from the
web, as you can see from the 3 links...
