Tried this once upon a time in my younger days - wasn't real happy with the
results!! The cheap stuff we mixed with the good stuff turned out to
produce an abnormal amount of dross, which ended up increasing daily
maintenance costs, increased replenishment bar consumption and slightly
fouling some product.
We thought we did all the right stuff first, ie., a full assay of both
solders before and after loading the pot, cleaned and descaled the pot and
nozzle pieces, etc., etc. I think we came out in the hole, costwise, by
using "that stuff sitting on the pallet in the corner", in spite of having
all the original manufacturers pot assay data, etc.
