Steve,

You can bet your last dollar that the company you work for will not remember
nor appreciate the personal sacrifice you made to stay there over the
holiday. Instead, they will just expect you to do the same every holiday!
Ho Ho.

You already know that it meant more to your family (and you) to be home than
it did to the company for you to stay and work (and get what for it, I
should hope at least comp. time).

So, what the heck are you in Kansas for? You can't tell me there aren't any
assembly houses any further east! Get looking and get moving! You don't
have to move next door; 2-4 hours is a good distance to be close enough for
a weekend, but not so close that you have to attend every relation's
birthday party.

Speaking from experience here... And that's why they can keep California
and Minnesota and New Hampshire/Boston. Just too far and NOT WORTH IT.

Charles,

My prayers are with you. And Bev, don't apologize for expressing your
heartfelt feelings to one of our TechNet members, especially in a time where
some positive encouragement is needed...

Charles, hang in there...from what little I know about this stuff, you'll
feel 10-times better after your surgery, ya' just gotta put up with the
hassle of it...

I just lost one of my older uncles this weekend, my uncle Walter. He
passed-away on Thursday. He's being buried on Monday and I won't be there. I
wasn't able to be home for thanksgiving because the solder-pot on the Hollis
that's getting hauled outta here needed to be emptied (I did that on
Thursday) to be replaced by a Trieber on Monday. My family is in North
Carolina...12-hours away driving time...I feel so shitty. Putting things
here
at work before my family...I made the decision to stay here (before all this
happened) and take care of things here at work because that's what I thought
would be expected of me. I realize now that was wrong...your family is your
family, and the only people that matter in your life...

Charles, may God be with you, and please email all of us after your surgery
to let us know that you're okay...

To the rest of ya'll, I know all our jobs are important, but reflect on this
post, and think about things...peace.
