According to IPC-SM-782, for a 1206 chip resistor (RLP103) the X dimension
is 1.6 max, however if you go into the on-line calculator and select RLP103A
the X dimension is 1.8 max. Has the revision to 782 been completed to Rev.
B? If not, how can a registered land pattern have changed? Is this what
RLP103A means? In the book RLP103 has no suffix after it, however it is
suggested that if you are creating a wave soldered device that you add 'W'
as a suffix. I am doing some preliminary article research into the problems
with creating CAD parts and have stumbled across this and was wondering what
is up with the land pattern standards. Thanks.
