Hi John,
we use them since many years. AIT makes them now, I can see you got their number.
I can tell you we had years and years with quality problems, now the production runs comfortably. I don't have the reliability figures, that's for our statistic man. As we sell the product together with the British and it's a military product, it may be somewhat constricted, just my feeling. However, I can tell you about what WAS the problem:
a) constant problems with the wire-to-via contacting
b) constant problems with the via metalisation
c) constant problems with edge contacting pads

This belongs to history now, but we still have a very stringent coupon check of every batch. The nature of these boards requires constant attention. This elderly product will be superseded by a more modern material, but we will run them for another one or two years.

Further information may be given you, depending on who you are, sorry to have to say that, comrade.

Best regards
Ingemar

The company, I presently work for, is about to try out multi-wire boards.

A few questions:

How reliable is multi-wire?

What is the expected yeild rates for such boards?

Who are the suppliers of multi-wire bare boards in the US?

What are the problems usually associated to multi-wire?

John Robinson
QA Manager
