was king (waaaay back there) that made high-temp filled plastic masking
thingamajigs that fit standard DIP/SIP patterns. You just dropped them in
the hole pattern before wave, then removed and reused them after wave.
Anybody out there know what I'm talking about, and who makes them?

Hi Mike!

You call those things; "Thingamajigs" huh? I always called them
"Whatchamacallits"
Did a search on "whatchamacallits" and came up with this:

http://www.whatchamacallit.com/

Don't think I'll be getting in touch with Sam or Dan though...hehehe

Seriously, here's three places that make hi-temp tapered plugs in all kinds
of sizes that's
used for powder coating and plating. Might give them a call and see if they
have something
off the shelf. All the plugs I seen on their pages are individual plugs
though. But you could
have these places die-cut .100" spaced holes in some strips of the same
material that the
plugs are made of, buy the individual tapered plugs, then insert and glue the
plugs into the
strips. Might be a little work at first, but then ya' got what you're looking
for!
