Hi!
If I am right- according to the picture- you have a single sided circuit
board with solder pads on the print side. According to your drawing the pads
inner diameter is smaller than the actual hole, and you lead diameter is so,
that you have a large gap between the soldering surface of the circuit and
the lead.
I suppose that this situation is not for all components, if yes, look for
other suggestions you have got.The gap seems to be too large. I had this
situation once, with a two leaded component and we bent the leads if I
remember well. later we changed the design. Component solderability must be
checked too.
