Steve,

Curious, I thought it was normal for us fab shops to send s&r gerber when
required. Usually we send by default, a s&r for outers containing surface
mounts. The customer may decide to send this to whoever does their stencil
(if it is not done in-house). We have a handful of customers that make this
part of the po.

As far as you sending a one-up image to your stencil maker and them
performing the s&r, seems to me this may potentially lead to lay-up
problems?

If you're talking about some type of hand lay-up, I may be able to see why a
fab shop would resist performing this daunting task solely for stencil
preparation.
