<< Hello Fellow TechNetters,
I am in the process of formulating requirements for SM packaging of
components for presentation on automatic insertion/placement equipment. I
have tried a couple of web sites to find publications on this and the only
ones I have found so far is the IPC-481 series which addresses Carrier
Taping.
Specifically right now I need requirements for tray packaging of QFP's,
however I am open to any and all suggestions for SM components. (Do it all
now, why wait for the rush? Right!?)
Any help or directions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Howdy Richard!
Go to: http://www.toplinedummy.com/SMDnomen.pdf and I think you'll like what
you find there! It's all ready you...you won't hafta' do a thing. Explains
what packaging is available such as reel sizes and whatnot...even goes into
explaining why a 1206 is called a 1206, and a bunch of other good stuff...
L8'er gator!
