*giggle* perhaps I should have sent my reply to the net rather than off line
as I did.
I have worked at a IPC-600 and IPC-610 companies...we code defects....
we track them by their code and watch for increases in the defects noted.not
all "defects" are "rejectable" and the codes reflect that.
However, in coding and watching the trend you are then able to take
"preventative action" steps (as required by ISO9000). before having to take
corrective action after the rejection....
Codes are far less time consuming to right down for the operators, and much
quicker to enter on the data entry side.
